Title

Studying at Darul Uloom

Question

Assalamualaikum Mufti Sahab,

I and my family are active members of Tableegh Jamat.  Here I would like to know about the Alim studies in your esteemed Madrasa in South Africa and also would like to know how can an international student apply for the same.

Alhamdulilah My cousin , who is mashallah a Hafiz ul Quran has been graduated 6 months ago and is undertaking Alim course for 1st year from the month of September 2012. Alhamdulilah he has completed his Quran Hifz in 3 years and he conducted tarwiyah this Ramzan.  He has been educated until 7th in one of the best English medium schools in Karnataka, INDIA; and is well verse of English vocabulary. Presently, he is continuing his Alim course in the same madrasa where he has done his Hafiz.

I would just like to know about the procedures carried out for Alim in order to get an admission out there in as well as the course overview. It would be kind enough to let us even know the expenses (yearly approximate) that one would have to face.  It is so because we are interested in getting his admission for Alim in your esteemed madrasa.  Your help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Jazakallah...

Answer

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We are a Darul Iftaa. We train Ulama to become Mufti’s according to the Hanafi Mazhab. Ulama who know English are welcome to study at the Darul Iftaa. We select the students based on our criteria.

It is encouraging to note your cousin has commenced his Alim course and he also knows English. He may continue his studies in the present Madrassah.

I teach Hadith at Darul Uloom Nu’maniyyah which is based in Chatsworth. If you wish your cousin to study there, you may make an application to the Admin of Darul Uloom Nu’maniyyah at the following email address: arkhanar@telkomsa.net
